‘Non-durable grass’ preserved by Gangwon FC…Chuncheon Songam Sports Town revitalized
The grass at Gangwon FC’s home stadium, Chuncheon Songam Sports Town, which was recently criticized for its “patchy grass,” has been revitalized. After more than 20 days of extensive maintenance work, it has regained its lush green color.
Gangwon was criticized and criticized for a while last month for its ‘patchy grass’. In fact, the turf at Chuncheon Songam Sports Town was so badly damaged that it was difficult to play a normal game in the top league of professional soccer. In particular, the turf was deeply dug and layered in many places. The center of the field was completely cracked, as if a tractor had passed by.
Naturally, this had a detrimental effect on playing conditions. Irregular bounds were common, and it wasn’t uncommon for passes to go out of play. Players were tripping and having trouble controlling the ball. Players weren’t able to showcase their unique style of play because they were afraid of getting injured.
After discussions with Chuncheon City Corporation, the organization that maintains the lawn, Kangwon decided to undertake a major renovation. The team started by replacing all the badly damaged grass. Fortunately, they were able to buy time as it was their second consecutive away game after the Pohang Steelers game on the 21st of last month, and after about 20 days of repair work, the field came back to life.
A Gangwon official said, “We started the grass repair work on the 22nd according to the plan we reported to the federation. “The federation’s competition supervisor visited and inspected it, and gave us the green light to play the home game,” he explained.
Once the ground conditions improved, the game went smoothly. In the Hana One Q K League 2023 Round 17 match between Gangwon FC and Daejeon Hana Citizen at Chuncheon Songam Sports Town on July 7, both teams played their signature fast counterattacking soccer and battled fiercely.
먹튀검증 However, Gangwon still hasn’t found an answer to the severe damage to the turf. “We haven’t found a definite cause for the problem before,” said a Gangwon official, “and the Chuncheon City Corporation is still trying to find the cause.” Chuncheon City Corporation has previously stated that they have made every effort to find the cause of the problem, including commissioning experts, but have yet to find the exact cause.
