‘Last place Nongshim’ Heo Young-chul “Players must be desperate”

Nongshim Red Force head coach Heo Young-cheol called for desperation from his players.

Nongshim lost 0-2 to T1 in the sixth week of the regular season of the 2023 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) Summer League at the LCK Arena in Jongno-gu, Seoul on Thursday. They fell to 2-10 (-15) and remained in last place (1st). 안전놀이터순위

Nongshim suffered a crushing defeat. “It was a hopeless game,” Heo said in a brief recap. “It’s not just a loss. With a performance like this, we need to think about what we need to do next week and where we need to start,” he said, adding, “It was a poor performance. I felt hopeless while watching the game.”

He pointed out that the players lacked combat sense and determination in the first set. He cited the team’s inability to capture Annie in the second dragon fight and their over-investment in Bai’s skills in the red zone battle, which was the decisive game of the set.

Nongshim fell apart in the second set, starting with the line battle. He said there was a disconnect between the scrimmage and the actual game. He said, “In scrimmages, the line game doesn’t work well. But in the tournament, like in the Hanwha Life game, it exploded,” he said. “The players were passive in the lineup, so they made too many mistakes.”

He called for desperation from the players, saying that they should be wary of making the same mistakes over and over again. “‘No matter who the opponent is, we can’t win with this level of performance. We have to be desperate,’ he told the players. “I told them, ‘You have to be desperate,’ because if you’re not, you’re not going to win,” he said.
