KLPGA Kyochon Ladies Open reduced to 36 holes due to bad weather

The 9th Kyochon 1991 Ladies Open (total prize money of 800 million won) of the Korea Women’s Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour was reduced to two rounds due to bad weather.

The KLPGA tour announced today (6th), “We have decided to cancel the final 3 rounds due to heavy rain and strong winds.”

On the 5th, due to heavy rain, the start was delayed by an hour, so 65 out of 130 players, half of the total, could not finish the first round.

Today (6th), the rest of the first round was originally scheduled to resume from 6:50 am, but the weather continued to be bad, so it was delayed for more than 4 hours, and the first round was not finished until 2:30 pm.

Accordingly, the organizing committee decided to shorten the tournament to 36 holes instead of the originally scheduled 54 holes.

Kim Woo-jung is leading by one stroke with a 4 under par 68 in the first round.
