‘GOD’ Tani… multi-homer blast gives him sole AL lead
It’s a GOD tani. More cartoonish than cartoons.
Shohei Ohtani (28) of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the American professional baseball league has become the sole leader of the American League (AL) with 13 “multi-homer games”. He surpassed New York Yankees home run king Aaron Judge. 메이저사이트
Ohtani hit his 19th and 20th home runs of the season on 13 March during the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) game against the visiting Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, United States. His 19 put him in first place in the AL in home runs, one shy of the AL lead.
Ohtani’s bat was on fire when it mattered. He took his team’s victories into his own hands.
Batting second in the lineup, Ohtani hit the game-winning home run in the top of the seventh inning with his team trailing 5-4. Facing Texas right-hander Grant Anderson, he took a two-pitch sinking fastball low to the body and scooped it up with an upper swing, sending it over the centre-field fence. The ball sailed lightly over the fence. He also turned heads by performing a “bat flip,” in which he flipped the bat with his right hand. Season 19.
After tying the game, Ohtani hit the game-winning home run. He homered again in the top of the 12th inning of extra innings, tied 5-5. Stepping to the plate with the bases loaded, Ohtani crushed a high cut fastball from left-hander Cole Lagans over the left field fence. It was his 20th home run of the season. The Angels went on to win 9-6, and Ohtani went 2-for-4 with two home runs, four RBIs and one walk. It was a complete ‘hitter’ performance, and he raised his season batting average to .291 (75-for-258).
