COVID-19 confirmed→Home run, home run, home run…Home run king’s 3G consecutive ‘monster’ as soon as he returns

Yomiuri Giants’ No. 4 hitter Kazuma Okamoto (27) has homered in three straight games. Upon returning from a four-day layoff due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kazuma Okamoto unleashed a three-game home run streak.

Okamoto started in the No. 4 spot in the lineup against the Yokohama BayStars on March 3 at Yokohama Stadium in Japan, going 2-for-5 with a home run, one RBI and two runs scored.

With two outs in the first inning, he hit a double to left field to put runners on second and third. He scored on the next batter’s single. After retiring the side in order in the third, Okamoto led off the fifth inning with a solo home run over the left field fence, trailing 7-5.

On a two-pitch, one-strike count, he lined a fastball up the middle (147 kilometers) and sent it over the fence. Okamoto’s homer pulled Yomiuri to within 6-7, but they scored single runs in the eighth and ninth innings to complete the comeback.

Okamoto developed a fever on March 27 and was suspended for 31 days after being confirmed with COVID-19. He rejoined the team on April 1 against Yokohama and has homered in three straight games since his return. His third three-game homer streak of the season 먹튀검증.

In the three-game series, he went 6-for-12 (5-for-5) with three home runs and three doubles, all long balls. His power hasn’t suffered from the after-effects of COVID-19, and he’s actually hitting for more power than ever before.

With his third consecutive game with a home run, Okamoto has 37 home runs on the season to lead the league in home runs. With 25 homers, he trails second-place finishers Munetaka Murakami (Yakult) and Shugo Maki (Yokohama) by 12. With a little more than 20 games remaining, a third individual home run title looks likely barring any upsets.

Okamoto led the Central League in home runs for the second straight year in 2020 (31) and 2021 (39). With six straight 30-homer seasons, Okamoto is on pace for 40 homers, which would tie his career high (39).

Okamoto also has 86 RBIs on the season, five shy of Maki (91). He’s on pace to win two batting titles.
